Hi!  I’m Miss Karen and thrilled to begin my 7th season at GJDC.  I began my dance training at the age of three at Martinique School of Dance in Richmond, where I returned as an instructor, inspiring dancers of all ages in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and lyrical until the closing of the school in May 2010.  My dance studies included Virginia Commonwealth University, Tidewater Academy of Ballet, Broadway Dance Center and the Richmond Ballet Adult Program and performed with the Richmond Ballet, Richmond Ballet Contemporary, Concert Ballet of Virginia, Norfolk Ballet and Ballet Petit.  I am proud to be the Ballet Mistress at GJDC and love teaching the ballet and pointe classes.  When I’m not busy with dance,  I love spending time with my family and gardening. Some of my most special times are going on outings with my grandson- we love the zoo, movies and shopping!!  I am so excited for the upcoming season and love sharing the joy of dance with our wonderful students!!
