Ashton Overby

Instructor / Choreographer

This is GJDC Alumni Ashton's 5th year teaching here! Ashton began dancing at the age of two in Chesterfield, VA. Throughout her training, she studied all forms of dancing in her studio. At the age of nine she began traveling to compete in competitions including Dance Makers Inc., Showstoppers, and Dance Educators of America. Ashton continued to pursue her dance education at Radford University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a double minor in Entrepreneurship and Management. During her time at Radford, Ashton was also a member of the RU Rockers dance team and competed at the NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida where the Rockers became the #6 Division 1 University Dance Team in the nation! Throughout her 21 years of dancing, Ashton has had the opportunity to study under many instructors including Darrin Henson, Tommy Alexander, Kent Boyd, and Hayley Mac Cooper just to name a few. Ashton was able to travel to Maryland to study under Christopher K. Morgan & Artists for two weeks with the company and showcase what she learned in the Summer 2016 as well. Ashton was also recently able to obtain her license to teach UltraBarre and Zumba dance fitness. As an energetic dancer and person, Ashton wants to share her love and knowledge of dance with others through her teaching to others who have a passion for the art.
